Environmental, Social and Sustainability Policy

At Intrust Health we are continuously working to make sure we operate our business in a way that does not cause any harm to our local environment.

Environmental

  • We source all our supplies from local businesses where possible.
  • Job vacancies are advertised locally to attract local workers.
  • We use fairtrade products in our office.
  • We have a recycling station in the office and encourage staff to use the separate waste bins.
  • We have a dedicated recycling officer within the company responsible for ensuring we maximise every opportunity.
  • All ink cartridges are recycled.
  • We keep our paper usage to a minimum, communicating via e-mail whenever possible.
  • Any paper that is used and not needed is shredded in line with data protection and then recycled.
  • Heating systems do not run when the office is closed.
  • Non-essential computer equipment is turned off overnight.
  • We encourage all staff to travel to work by public transport/car share/cycle wherever possible.
  • All our staff are aware of this policy and together we are working to make our carbon footprint as small as possible.
  • We endeavour to maintain that we have a positive impact on the local environment.

Social

  • We endeavour to source all of our supplies from local businesses, helping to keep the local communities engaged, with work and employment.
  • We encourage the support of charities including Marie Curie Cancer Care, MacMillan Cancer Support and the Royal British Legion.
  • We have developed a trainee recruitment scheme that hires people with transferable skills. By training and developing people, we ensure that we are adding to the fabric of local society.
  • We are a family friendly organisation and encourage flexible working patterns for parents and carers; we recognise the positive impact that this has on local families and societies.
  • We encourage employees’ participation in local clubs and societies.
  • We offer flexible and extended lunch breaks to encourage staff to undertake sport and other health activities.
  • We endeavour to maintain that we have a positive impact on the local society.

Economic

  • We strive to recruit local people, ensuring that the community and local businesses benefit from the increased employment.
  • We are based in the town centre, with a wide range of local shops and businesses. This encourages spend within our local area in small owner managed shops in the High Street.
  • We endeavour to maintain that we have a positive impact on the local economy.
